Martha St. John, MD

Dr. St. John is a native Houstonian. She attended Rice University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. She completed her doctorate in medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where, during her clinical rotations, she developed an interest in psychiatry. Dr. St. John went on to complete her residency in General Psychiatry at the UT-Health Science Center where she also served as Chief Resident.

Dr. St. John is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and an elected fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. St. John has been in private practice since 2006. She treats adults, ages 18 and up, for a broad range of disorders including: ADHD, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety, major depression, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and OCD.

Dr. St. John is one of few psychiatrists in Houston performing NeuroStar TMS Therapy. She has completed an elective 5-day Intensive Course in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at the Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation in Boston at the Harvard Medical School.

Mildred Ruiz

Mildred has been assisting Dr. St. John in treating TMS patients since she joined PPTC in the summer of 2015. A veteran of the health care industry since 1985, Mildred is a Certified TMS Technician and patient advocate. She coordinates new patient education, clinical evaluations, and case management for patients receiving TMS Therapy and ensures that each patient receives full support and continuum of care throughout their treatment at Progressive Psychiatry TMS Center.
